The bee allergy test refers to the Apis venom allergen.
The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is
performed when allergy to bee venom is suspected
The advantage of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines
antihistamines. The blood allergen test is used
also for qualifying for desensitization of bee venom sensitization
bees.
It is also recommended for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children
under the age of 4 years.
