Culture of the throat swab

Throat swab is performed to identify pathogenic microorganisms pathogenic microorganisms and their sensitivity to antibiotics (a so-called antibiogram is performed so-called antibiogram is performed).

Throat swab culture is used in mainly diagnostic:

• inflammation of the throat and tonsils;
• chronic infection of the upper and lower respiratory tract;
• infections of the throat in the course of hematological diseases (diseases of the Blood), with involvement of lymph nodes (cervical, submandibular), infectious diseases (diphtheria, diphtheria), during treatment immunosuppressive treatment;
• suspected carriers;
