Lupus Test Package – Test Description

Lupus tests are primarily needed to detect the most common form of this disease, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease that can affect nearly all organs of the body.

Diagnosing SLE is difficult due to the wide variety of clinical symptoms, often non-specific abnormalities in laboratory results, and histopathological features that can occur not only in lupus but also in other diseases. The presence of antibodies against self-antigens, especially antinuclear antibodies, plays a crucial role in diagnosing SLE. • GP1AGM – antibodies against beta2-glycoprotein1 in IgA, IgG, and IgM classes.

Indications for Lupus Testing

Results Interpretation

Lupus test results must be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms and other laboratory tests. A positive result is not diagnostic for SLE by itself and requires clinical correlation.
