Poliovirus type I and III (poliomyelitis) antibodies

Clinical significance:

Poliovirus I III antibodies - antibodies to the virus that causes Polio, is also known as Sudden Infantile Palsy, Sudden Anterior Myelitis, or poliomyelitis.

It is a foodborne disease. Clinical manifestations are varied, the disease can be asymptomatic, abortive (non-specific febrile illness), can manifest as meningitis, the least common form is polio with muscle paralysis.

Polio antibodies to poliomyelitis are not a common cause of poliomyelitis

Antibodies to poliovirus appear in the body after having contracted the disease or after immunization.
