EBV IgG antibodies

Testing the level of IgG antibodies to Epstein virus Barr is used in the diagnosis of mononucleosis. Antibodies IgG mononucleosis antibodies persist throughout life.


Mononucleosis infection can be asymptomatic or with non-specific symptoms (especially in infants, younger children and elderly). The heraldic symptoms are flu-like symptoms, Which develop gradually. This is followed by the development of :

• inflammation of the throat and tonsils,
• lymph nodes and spleen enlarge,
• hepatitis appears,
• skin lesions,
• other non-specific symptoms, e.g. headache, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, weakness, malaise, fatigue, a feeling of exhaustion, difficulty concentrating.
