Clinical significance

HBV - a virus of the Hepadnaviridae family, causing hepatitis B. Infection occurs by the parenteral route, mainly through the blood, sexually or perinatally. The main reservoir of infection is the sick person. The test involves qualitative detection of HBV DNA and determination of drug resistance.
