Phenothiazines are compounds used as neuroleptic drugs,
sedatives, antipsychotics, antiemetics, sleeping pills,
hypotensive, antihistamines (tisercin, chlorpromazine,
tioridazin). After taking a large dose of phenothiazine derivatives
dizziness, balance and coordination disorders occur,
drowsiness, followed by a state of confusion and coma. In severe
poisoning, hypothermia may occur, as well as periodically occurring
seizures and pseudo-Parkinsonian symptoms. Damage to
parenchymal organs, liver and kidneys in acute poisoning
occur sporadically, while they are quite characteristic of
chronic poisonings.
